Since i started to produce electonic music, i need an audio interface. I spend a little bit of time to find this one, just because some of my favorite EDM producers, like Rezz[1] use it. As a beginer, i choice a Focusrite Scarlett Studio Solo version, with only one extra AUX input, but that's enough, as i don't have any instrument to connect to.
I don't have a really good equipment or software before, so this bundle is a great way to buy a good audio devices with a legendary plugins included!
Buying any of Focusrite products, you've got a little sweet bonus - a bundle of plugins and software, callled Hitmaker Expansion. This includes:
Should i say that this is the best software you can get for a price of audio card?
This is everything you need to feel yourself comfy with your music making process. Even if you are want to sing, or make an electronic music, rock music, hip-hop, record podcast, or just want to have fun with you microphone and record some crazy noisy sounds.
Synth like Massive have almost infinite power, as you can recreate almost any sound you want. Skrillex[2] still use Massive up to this day, just because he learnt it so well, he could recreate almost anything just with FM8 and Massive.
Ableton Live is a good DAW to try, even if you already have favorite one. You could really easy manipulate with your sounds, and midi tracks, transforming them into something crazy in a seconds. I really like to work in Ableton, even if Lite version have only 8 MIDI/Audio track availible, for me it's enough to make some Complextro and Glitch-Hop beats.
Personally, Ableton + Massive is my favorite way to make music. You could learn everything about Massive[3] in a hour, and Ableton plugins is really easy to use, since they have an minimal and helpful interface. You could read almost about any button or knob in plugin, just by reading it's help menu, this really helps me to better understand how effects really works.
I am not a singer or rapper, and i'm pretty shy to record my own voice, so i use this one for recording some sounds, like nature sounds, or maybe keychain noises, like Linkin Park do in a song "Given Up". This quality is just awesome - i cannot say anything more, since i never have microphone before.
In the box, i also have a cardboard DIY microphone stand, which looks like a good temporary solution. > ^ <
My daily headphones, when i don't use my notebook speakers. This is the best headphones i ever had, they're sounds just good for listening to music, and working with DAW. Headphones never replace a good speakers combined with a perfect room, but i'm happy with this, so i use them every day.
If you are beginner and don't have a great equipment, but want to make your own YouTube videos, stream on Twitch, or make music - it's the best solution i could recommend. This is the most expensive thing i ever buy in my life [350 €], but every day i see my progress in music making just because i have a good sound in my ears.
In 2000's, Pendulum use ten computers the same time to perform live, but now you could make a good indie records in you room, just by knowing software very well. I wish, i could help someone with this article, even if you are not musician, and just like my website! I love you! :3
